The Arts

Set Design
In the Summit Christian Academy Set Design Program, students learn to sculpt and paint Styrofoam to design sets for performances and classroom themes. The grades 4-6 classroom interior was entirely created with the use of this method.

Hand Bell Choir
The Hand Bell Choir tours around the valley putting on performances for churches, nursing homes, and other organizations. Students learn to read music and play as members of a larger group. Bell Choir directors from Gem State Academy in Idaho and Southwestern Adventist University provide specialized workshops for students who take part in this program.

Drama Team
The drama team performs about 10 small performances in our school community and local community and two large performances each year. Programs range from productions for individual classrooms, to church and school performances, to the Carols and Candles Christmas Program and Spring Awards Night production.

Athletics

Basketball
Summit Christian Academy participates in the Junior Jazz basketball program. Students in grades 5-10 participate on teams that compete in the Junior Jazz leagues. Character development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and specific skill sets are all emphasized in this program.

Flag Football
Each year, students in grades 6-8 join our flag football team. The team travels to a flag football tournament at Monterey Bay Academy in California. The team learns the skills specific to flag football while focusing on teamwork and being positive sportsmen and sportswomen.
